There are several different types of eyelash enhancements on the market today – here’s how to figure out the one that’s right for you!
First question to ask yourself is, “How long do I want my eyelashes enhancements to last?” This will help you figure out what’s best, and here at Living Well Day Spa, conveniently located between Saratoga Springs and Clifton Park, New York, we offer them all!
Semi-permanent Lashes – These are eyelash enhancements that are applied with a surgical type adhesive and are longer lasting. Included in this category are the following:
1. Eyelash Extensions: Eyelash extensions are single lashes that are placed upon the natural lash on a one to one basis. They generally last up to four weeks or the life of the natural lash, falling off with the natural lash. They are relatively weightless and comfortable and come in a variety of colors, lengths, thicknesses, materials and curl depths. Most people have them filled about every two weeks, similar to nail fills, to add lashes for those that have been lost. 2. Party Lashes: These are two lashes joined at the tip, which are adhered across the natural lashes. They are also lightweight and comfortable and come in a variety of lengths, curls and thicknesses. They last up to two weeks and are great for a one up party, night out or event. They are about half the cost of traditional Eyelash Extensions and are not made to be filled.
Daily Wear Lashes are lash enhancements that are strictly temporary and should be removed daily. These include:
1. Strip Lashes: Strip lashes are many lash fibers bound on a fabric strip and they are adhered to the eyelid skin with a rubber type adhesive.
2. Flares: Flares are similar to strips, but are small bunches of lashes, sometimes joined by a knot, that are adhered with a rubbery-type adhesive to the skin at the lash line. They are not meant to be adhered long term.
